2019 Violet Beauregard Langhorne Creek Malbec
90 points ★★★★
"Zonte's Footstep gained its name in a very quirky way. It refers to the zante currant, which is thought to have been the first grape variety planted in the colony of South Australia. The 'a' was changed to an 'o' because it's forbidden to use a grape name on a wine label unless that grape is in the wine.
The colour is a deep, dense purple/red, the rich perfumes of violets and floral nuances, combined with black fruits and a tinge of dark chocolate The intense middle palate is full-bodied yet has a degree of elegance, the tannins fine and tight and firm, underlined by acidity. Well balanced for drinking early, and will age well"
